How to join a CS2 server by IP
You can connect to a specific Counter-Strike 2 server by IP in a couple of seconds - through the console, a direct link, or your Favorites in the server browser. Below are all the working methods and fixes for common problems.
Method 1. Using the console (fast and reliable)
If the server is password protected, first type the password "your_password" command, then connect IP:port.
- 1Enable the developer console: Settings → Game → "Enable Developer Console (~)" → Yes.
- 2In game, press the ` key (tilde, below Esc).
- 3Type the connect IP:port command, for example: connect 203.0.113.10:27015
- 4Press Enter - the game will connect to the server.
Method 2. Direct steam://connect link
Open a link in the form steam://connect/IP:port in your browser (for example steam://connect/203.0.113.10:27015). Steam will launch CS2 and connect you to the server right away. It's a handy link to share with friends.
Method 3. Through the monitoring site and Favorites
On MonitoringCS2, find the server you want in the list and click the connect button - the game opens automatically. You can also add the server to your Favorites in game: the "Play" tab → "Community" → "Favorites" → add it by IP.
What to do if it won't connect
- The server is offline or restarting - check the live player count in the monitoring, which refreshes every 30 seconds.
- Wrong port - the default CS2 port is 27015, but it can differ; always enter the full IP:port.
- Your game is out of date - update CS2 through Steam.
- A firewall or anti-cheat is blocking it - temporarily disable any third-party firewall and try again.
- VAC/ban - if you get a connection error, check whether you've been banned on that server.
