Dataminers discovered the LAR rifle model in the latest update, which was previously developed under the codename M14. Based on the animations found, it appears to be a lever-action rifle with single-round magazine feeding. The weapon is in early development stages and has not yet been officially announced by Valve.

For community server owners and administrators, this suggests that plugin and config updates may be needed when LAR is added to the official rotation. Currently, these are only files in the «do_not_ship» folder, but supporting the new weapon on servers will require script adjustments. The rifle's exact characteristics remain unknown, so it's premature to discuss its impact on balance and server popularity.

Once LAR receives an official release, its role in the metagame and application on specific maps will become clear. For now, the community can only await Valve's official announcement and its inclusion in a battle pass or major update.
